Welcome to PeschlSports, a dynamic force in the world of cycling, athlete development, events, and trail building, led by visionary entrepreneur Shaun Peschl. With a passion for two wheels and a commitment to community upliftment, PeschlSports is transforming lives across South Africa, one pedal stroke at a time.
Shaun Peschl is a former professional cyclist turned entrepreneur, whose extensive experience in the sport has shaped Peschlsports into a leader in cycling initiatives.
As the founder and director, Shaun's background includes managing the Kargo Pro MTB Team from 2012 to 2016, where he nurtured top talent and achieved remarkable success. One of his proudest accomplishments was guiding South African mountain bike star Alan Hatherly to the 2016 Rio Olympics, where Alan represented the nation in cross-country racing.
Shaun's hands-on approach extends to trail development and pumptrack refurbishment, including building world-class mountain bike trails at lifestyle and golf estates, creating accessible spaces for riders of all levels.
Beyond his racing legacy, Shaun serves as an ambassador for Velosolutions' Pump for Peace initiative, promoting cycling as a tool for social change. He's also a key partner with Cycle Lab and Obera, advocating for inclusive cycling programs that inspire the next generation.
At the heart of PeschlSports is the GO!Durban Cycling Academy, founded and managed by Shaun Peschl. This groundbreaking program operates across six sites in Durban, getting over 1,500 children on bikes every day. The academy combines sport with education, providing safe havens like the Wentworth Bike Park and fostering skills in a fun, supportive environment. Through partnerships with Velosolutions, the academy has launched initiatives like the Izimbali team—South Africa's first all-Black female cycling squad—empowering young women to chase their dreams on the track.
